ENTRY REQUIREMENTS / WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Learners should be a minimum of 18 years old and have a moderate level of fitness due to the physical nature of this course.
INTRODUCTION
This Cable Avoidance (Cat and Genny) course will provide both operators and supervisors with the skills and knowledge needed to carry out cable avoidance and excavation work.

- Reading and understanding site plans
- Operating cable avoidance tools in order to avoid or locate underground apparatus

- Understanding regulations & guidance in relation to cable avoidance and safe excavation

- Basic principles of location and avoidance of underground services
- Soil stability
- Supporting Trenches
- Safe digging practices
- Working at height around excavations
