Our 2-day Clay Pavers & Block Paving training course is ideal for those who have some experience in the landscape industry and are looking to upskill their knowledge, increase confidence, gain an understanding of industry standards and deliver exceptional patio installations for their clients.

This course has been developed to provide delegates the opportunity to learn new skills in a relaxed and welcoming environment. The course combines theory and practical training help learners understand how to install clay pavers and block paving to BS7533 standards and industry recommendations.

This 2-day training programme combines theory and practical training to ensure the learner has a full understanding of the installation methods required for each stage of construction. The attendee will gain:
- A comprehensive knowledge of health and safety requirements for site, working with dangerous equipment and professional and compliant working practices to ensure the safety of yourself and others.
- An understanding and in-depth product knowledge of various clay paver and block paving products and consideration for their applications
- Full understanding of how to select the correct materials to meet specifications and industry recommendations
- Full understanding of how to set out paving in accordance with industry standards, including a range of skills and modern techniques to provide a full range of abilities for all circumstances
- Full understanding of sub-base requirements for products to meet industry standards including excavation, waste and sub-base construction methods
- Full understanding and knowledge required to set and calculate appropriate fall rates for products to meet industry standards for surface water run-off
- An understanding of mortar mixes, bedding layer and bridging bonds in preparation of the installation of products
- Full understanding of the requirements and legality of cutting products using machinery, working with natural stone and using skilled stone craft techniques
- An understanding of joint sizing for both products, the use of jointing compounds and various techniques for the products
- The skill to effectively install large areas of paving trying out different laying patterns, to industry standards on unbound (MOT) compacted sub-base
- Full understanding of the aftercare and maintenance requirements for products
