ENTRY REQUIREMENTS / WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Learners should be a minimum of 18 years old and have a moderate level of fitness due to the in-depth practical training within the programme.
INTRODUCTION
Our 2-day Composite Prime Customised Lantra-accredited training course is aimed at those who are looking to become an Approved Installer with Composite Prime.
OVERVIEW
This course has been developed as an independent training course, created and delivered by The Landscape Academy on behalf of Composite Prime. The course combines theory, practical training and assessment as the first of a two-stage process to become a Composite Prime Approved Installer. Learners are provided with in-depth knowledge and skills to fully understand decking construction from start to finish. We work in line with industry recommendations, such as The Decking & Cladding Association (TDCA). Learners will achieve a Lantra Awards Certification of Competence upon successful completion.

View coursesWHAT’S COVERED/PROGRAMME SESSION INCLUDES:
This two-day training programme combines theory and practical training to ensure the learner has a full understanding of the installation methods required for each stage of decking construction prior to the Lantra assessment. The attendee will gain:
- A comprehensive knowledge of health & safety requirements for site, working with dangerous equipment and professional & compliant working practices to ensure the safety of yourself and others
- An understanding of site considerations and the materials needed to ensure a comprehensive deck construction
- An understanding of quoting and selling deck construction services
- A full understanding of setting out decking in accordance with industry recommendations
- A full understanding of sub-structure requirements and construction for composite products to meet industry standards. This includes timber specifications, joists, components, posts and fixings, along with hints and tips from our professional, experienced team of tutors
- An understanding and in-depth product knowledge of Composite Prime products and consideration for their applications
- A full understanding of how to select the correct products and materials to meet certain specifications and project locations
- A full understanding of the knowledge required to install Composite Prime products in line with manufacturers guidelines
- Knowledge of how to effectively construct a timber sub-structure to industry recommendations, providing learners with real-world practical experience that can be utilised when on-site
- Practical assessments throughout to ensure competent understanding
- A full understanding of the aftercare and maintenance requirements for Composite Prime products
