ENTRY REQUIREMENTS / WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Learners should be a minimum of 18 years old and have a moderate level of fitness due to the in-depth practical training within the programme.
INTRODUCTION
The Ride-on Roller Course is designed to ensure learners understand how to operate a Ride-on Roller safely and correctly, as per the operator manual, health and safety legislation and ACOPs. By the end of this course, learners will be able to identify potential risks in the workplace and have an appreciation of basic health and safety legislation.

Our experienced and knowledgeable instructors will tailor a course to suit you or your staff, taking into account the operation and the health and safety aspects of using the machinery to the recognised NPORS Standards.

By the end of the course, learners will be able to:
- Have a basic understanding of the industry, the dangers of working in the industry and their responsibilities as a operator
- Have a working knowledge of the manufacturer’s handbook for the particular machine to be used.
- Locate and identify the major components of the machine and explain their functions.
- Locate and identify key controls and explain their functions
- Conduct all pre-operational checks in accordance with manufacturer’s and legislative requirements
- Identify and maintain PPE appropriate for roller use
- Conduct all necessary safety checks of the work area.
- Operate machinery safely and efficiently
- Take into account environmental considerations
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of loading and unloading procedures for machine transportation
- Carry out all end of shift and shut down procedures
