ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Learners should be a minimum of 18 years old and have a moderate level of fitness due to the physical nature of this programme. This course is suited to those who have some experience in the landscape industry, and are looking to learn new skills, improve upon existing skills, or bring their experience in line with new industry standards.

Our 2-day Customised Lantra Accredited training course in porcelain paving is for those who have some experience in the landscape industry and are looking to upskill their knowledge, increase confidence, gain an understanding of industry standards and deliver exceptional patio installations for their clients.
OVERVIEW
This course has been developed to provide delegates the opportunity to learn new skills in a relaxed and welcoming environment. The course combines theory, practical training and assessment to help learners install porcelain paving to BS7533 standards and industry recommendations. Learners will achieve a Lantra Award Certification of Competence upon completion.

This 2-day training programme combines theory and practical training to ensure the learner has a full understanding of the installation methods required for each stage of porcelain paving construction. The attendee will gain:
- A comprehensive knowledge of health and safety requirements for site, working with dangerous equipment and professional and compliant working practices to ensure the safety of yourself and others
- An understanding and in-depth product knowledge of porcelain paving products and consideration for their applications
- Full understanding of how to select the correct materials to meet specifications and industry recommendations
- Full understanding of how to set out paving in accordance with industry standards, including techniques to provide a full range of abilities for all circumstances
- Full understanding of sub-base requirements for porcelain paving products to meet industry standards including excavation, waste and sub-base construction methods
- Full understanding of how to set and calculate appropriate fall rates for Porcelain Paving products to meet industry standards for surface water run-off
- Understanding of mortar mixes, bedding layers and bridging bonds in preparation for the installation of paving
- Full understanding of the requirements and legalities of cutting and shaping porcelain paving products using machinery, and selecting the correct equipment for the product
- An understanding of joint sizing for porcelain paving products, the use of jointing compounds and various techniques for the products
- The skill to effectively install large areas of paving to industry standards on unbound (MOT) compacted sub-base
- Practical assessments throughout to ensure competent understanding
- Full understanding of the aftercare and maintenance requirements for porcelain paving products
